July 14, 2014– ATLANTA, GA-– It’s summertime and we all remember the sound of the Ice Cream Truck riding through the neighborhood. Run and get your dollar, and grab a nice cold ice cream bar. How about a food truck? Same concept–but with hot, unique, restaurant style food! The Food Truck craze is alive and well in the heart of the South. This weekend was full of sunshine, good vibes, and HEAT! That’s a typical weekend in Hotlanta– summertime in Atlanta. I spent my Saturday afternoon exploring the many food trucks and vendors found at the 2014 Atlanta Street Food Festival. Atlanta is well-known for the unique food trucks spotted around the city, and based on the 40+ trucks present in Piedmont Park this Saturday, the market is growing rapidly!
BBQ + Indian Cuisine + Lemonade Vodka + Chicken & Waffles + Red Velvet Cupcakes + Fried Green Tomatoes! This is just a peek of what was in store for thousands who gathered in Piedmont Park, bearing the summer heat. The cost was $10.50 for general admission and free for children under 12. What I enjoyed most about the event was it was family friendly and very diverse. Of all things we disagree on, good food is one thing that brings everyone together! I tried some of the fresh BBQ from the Williamson Brothers BBQ tent, along with a freshly squeezed Lemonade–classic!
