I have seriously slacked on holiday shopping this year. I’m talking I avoided even purchasing gifts until about two days ago. And I’ll probably be one of those people in the mall on Christmas Eve running around like a chicken with its head cut off. *le sigh*
But hey, as long as I can see the look on my loved ones’ faces when they open their gifts, it is well worth the hassle. There is truly an art to gift-giving and I don’t want to toot my own horn, but I pretty much rock at it. I figure if you make sure each gift is something your friends and family will actually enjoy and use, they won’t be none the wiser to the fact that you made a mad dash to Macy’s just a few minutes before closing.
Have you procrastinated as much as I did? No worries! Get into the five gifts that you can cross off your shopping list:
1. A NYE Clutch
With New Year’s Eve right around the corner, give your loved one a festive handbag to ring in the start of a new year, like this striped sequin clutch from ASOS. Love!
2. A Skincare Upgrade
You know when the best time to score beauty deals is? Right now! With the end of the year quickly approaching, retailers are slashing prices on some of the luxe items I’ve been eyeing all year. A Clinique gift set, which includes a facial cleanser and ultra cute carrying case, is the perfect gift for someone wanting to change up their boring skincare routine.
3. A Versatile Statement Piece
One of the most versatile and comfy pieces in my closet is a sweatshirt that I got (no surprise!) as a gift. I’m not usually a sweatshirt type of girl, but I found that I could pair it with practically anything from midi skirts, denim, tailored trousers and the list goes on. For the outspoken fashionista in your life, gift them a statement sweatshirt like this one from ASOS. (ASOS has the best merchandise, don’t they?!)
4. Traveling Essentials
My best friend loves to travel. Me? Not so much. The long plane rides, the jetlag, the hustle and bustle? I’d much rather sit on my couch and watch Criminal Minds reruns on Netflix. But if you have a more adventurous BFF, a print luggage tag set is the perfect gift. The bright color ensures it will be easy to find among the bevy of travelers and it showcases some personality too. Win win!
5. An Experience Worth A Thousand Words
I love being able to help others experience new and exciting things. Instead of running to the mall, why not a ticket to an off-Broadway play (I’m obsessed with Dirty Dancing!), a gift card to a day spa or a lavish evening out to a new restaurant. And you can even go a step further and attach a personalized date with each to spend a little time with them as well.
