There comes a point in your healing journey where you realize—
the resistance you feel might not even be yours.
You’re doing the work. You’re meditating, journaling, drinking your water, setting boundaries—and still, something inside hesitates when it’s time to rise higher. That hesitation, that invisible weight pressing down on your spirit, could be coming from generations before you.
Internal resistance is often an echo. A quiet hum from your lineage saying, “Be careful.”
Because once upon a time, expanding wasn’t safe. Speaking up could cost your life. Being seen, being powerful, being free—was dangerous.
That energy doesn’t just disappear—it gets stored. It travels through bloodlines, showing up as fear, procrastination, self-doubt, or the need to play small.
If you’ve ever watched Them on Amazon Prime, you’ve seen this energy depicted vividly. The haunting in that series isn’t just supernatural—it’s ancestral. It’s the pain, trauma, and terror passed down through generations, living inside a family that can’t escape what was done to them. That’s what unhealed lineage looks like: a haunting within your own bloodline.
And yet, you’re here now. Chosen to do what your ancestors couldn’t—to break the loop, to release the residue, to create safety where none existed before.
The spiritual mending begins when you pause and ask:
“Is this fear really mine?”
When you acknowledge the truth that not everything you feel belongs to you, you create space for freedom. You can honor those who came before you without carrying their pain.
Say this out loud:
“Thank you for surviving so I could be here. But this fear, this burden, this limitation—ends with me.”
Then breathe. Let your shoulders drop. Feel the weight lift.
You’re not broken, love. You’re the healer your bloodline’s been waiting for.
Every time you choose peace over panic, courage over fear, and truth over silence—you’re mending generations of energy. You’re rewriting your family’s spiritual DNA.
So when resistance shows up, don’t take it personally.
Whisper gently to yourself:
“It’s not me. It’s my bloodline.”
And then?
Keep going anyway.
That’s how the healing begins.
Author’s Note — From Giselle
When I wrote this, I felt the whispers of my own ancestors—strong, tired, but proud. We carry so much that was never ours to hold. Healing, for me, has become an act of remembrance and release.
If you’re reading this and it resonates, know that you are not alone in your awakening. Your spirit is doing sacred work every time you pause, reflect, and choose differently.
You are your ancestors’ answered prayer.
And they are cheering for you—every single step of the way.
With love and light,
– Giselle 🤎
