How to Style a Sweatshirt in 3 Ways

Long gone are the days when sweatshirts were reserved solely for a sweaty workout or hiding those extra pounds from the previous weekend’s binge-eating. Step into 2015 and sweatshirts have undergone a complete style transformation. I for one can’t seem to get enough of their versatility and that I don’t have to trade comfort for style when wearing one. Like many of our favorite seasonal staples, they have also become very mainstream fashion, appearing in the Fall 2014 runway collections.

The trick to rocking a sweatshirt is that you still want to look put together, not like you’re going on an afternoon hike. To amp up the ‘wow’ factor, opt for a graphic sweatshirt that will make a  chic statement and quirky accessories that add to the overall look. Not quite sure how to transition between ‘fits when wearing a sweatshirt? Check below to see how to make the most out of this must-wear Marilyn Monroe sweatshirt for all occasions!

1. Casual

For a midday stroll around town or quick lunch date, pair your sweatshirt with distressed denim jeans for the ultimate casual on-the-go look. Blend in a pair of comfy flats and chic accessories to complement the ensemble. Add a summery pink lip and you’re all set!

2. For the Office

While a sweatshirt isn’t super professional and we don’t automatically think of rushing to the office when we put one on, when done right, it can be the perfect workplace look! Pull the look together with a pair of tailored slacks, closed-toe heels, and modest jewels.

3. Nightlife

I love having a good time and hitting up a few night spots with friends, but finding the perfect pieces can be such a hassle! Try to have fun combining your sweatshirt with a form-fitting leather skirt, tall stilettos, and quirky clutch. A red lip serves sass and sophistication to complete the nighttime look.

What do you think of this latest trend? Would you consider rocking it? If you do, you won’t regret it, I promise!

Stay Stylish,
