October 27th is Black Entrepreneur’s Day and FUBU Creator, Daymond John, hosted a free live streaming event across social media featuring some of the world’s leading black entrepreneurs, to discuss funding, rejection, partnerships, and ways to build community as a black entrepreneur.
In a nutshell: this event was necessary. Although there are hundreds and thousands of black entrepreneurs on and off line making an impact daily, I found the content highlighting some of the many trailblazing entrepreneurs to be inspiring, uplifting, and encouraging.
I’ll be the first to admit that being a full-time entrepreneur is HARD. It comes with battles that you didn’t even realize would exist, like making sales, or finding daily motivation to follow your dreams– but its worth it. Rejection is redirection, and every single piece of media created to celebrate entrepreneurs is needed and will encourage other minority groups to follow their heart’s desires and most of all…their life purpose!
