Winter Style Cues, Courtesy of Our Favorite Bloggers

Fashionistas,

Is it summer yet? While I admit I am enjoying the chill in the air — a pleasant change from the usual dry heat — I miss wearing my short shorts, halter tops, and strappy sandals *long sigh*. And I know we all want to dress to impress during the winter months, but because cold weather attire typically consists of heavy coats and thick layers, finding a way to let your personality shine through while keeping warm can be super difficult. But the keyword here is difficult, not impossible!

If you’re stumped on how to create an outfit that is weather-appropriate yet chic, check below to see how some of our favorite fashion bloggers style their looks this season.

1. Oversized Outerwear

You can’t possibly survive winter without fashionable outerwear pieces. And lucky for all of us, there are so many different options to choose from! Topped with an oversize vintage coat, Karla of Karla’s Closet paired spring and winter pieces for a chic monochromatic look. The minimal jewels and sunglasses add an extra sophisticated feel.

2. Luxe Layers

From scarves and gloves to beanies and fur stoles, incorporating layers is the perfect way to have fun and play with various pieces. Mixing hard and soft elements for an edgy yet feminine vibe, Girls Off Fifth‘s Janelle and Jessica created dimension with multiple add-ons without complicating the overall look.

3. Play With Textures

There is just something so cozy about blending different textures into one, cohesive ensemble. One of my favorite ways to bundle up? Incorporating a bunch of wool and knit layers, as showcased by Sheryl of Walk in Wonderland. She even takes the look a step further by colorblocking the pieces for a bold appearance.

4. Winter White

Who says you can’t wear white in the winter? Not only does the hue give a refreshing take on drab winter wear, you can switch it up in so many shades and styles. Micah Gianneli chose a slimming silhouette with white and off-white separates for a structured, head-turning fit.

5. Amp Up the Accessories

Everyone knows your look isn’t complete without a few style essentials — your favorite accessories! Liz of Late Afternoon Blog uplifts her ensemble with a blue leather jacket matched with retro shades, a wide floppy hat, and shoulder chain purse for an effortlessly whimsical look.

6. Chic Footwear

I’m all about serious footwear when the temps start to drop and nothing makes a bigger statement than thigh-highs or over-the-knee boots. Crystal of New Hipster paired her grunge-inspired plaid skort with a sleek pair of black, over-the-knee boots, which helped to create an edgy aesthetic that made the outfit just come to life.

What do you think of these looks? Any others you’re eyeing this winter? How are you keeping it cute despite the weather? As always, let me know in the comments!
