Fashionistas,
Can you believe Fashion Month is almost over? I mean, if you blinked, you might have missed it. And though there are only a few days left for designers to take us on a stylish journey with their latest collections, things definitely aren’t slowing down at Paris Fashion Week. The one collection that is undoubtedly a highlight each and every season? Kenzo.
Kenzo‘s Fall 2015 collection stayed true to form with a bevy of graphic prints and eccentric accents, pieced together in thick layers perfect for weathering the harsh climates. Front row onlookers, including Kelly Rowland and Kristina Bazan, were serenaded by indie dance-pop band Saint Etienne as models appeared in front of rectangular mirrored pillars.
Let’s get into all of the details, shall we?
Inspiration:
Inspired by grassy rain forests, Co-Creative Directors Humberto Leon and Carol Lim brought to life an energetic assortment of dark blues, purples, and olive greens with a splash of bright yellow and red to mimic an outdoor element. Of the collection, Leon stated: “I feel like the brand has always kind of celebrated this idea of nature and city. You’ll see florals and petals and a lot of the prints almost come from this idea that the girls are friends with nature and they can communicate with nature.”
Beauty:
Styled by Anthony Turner, models’ hair was slicked back into low, sophisticated ponytails to bring attention to the eye’s dramatic thick winged liner and glossy lips.
Naomi Yasuda of MAC Cosmetics complemented the collection’s bold colors with black, gold, burgundy, and white nail tones.
Key Pieces:
This collection was marked by standout pieces of protective ponchos and capes, with stripes and floral prints camouflaged into matching separates. Skirts flowed over tailored pants and suit separates were accentuated by fringe detailing. Less-cluttered pieces included pleated A-line chiffon dresses, shearling moto jackets, and lace embroidery. Accessories included colorblock tube socks, bright barrel and tote bags, snakeskin boots, wide-frame black shades, and cool caps.
My favorite look? The full shearling fur coat and embroidered floral pants. Love!
Isn’t this collection super wearable? I’m already eyeing a few looks. Which pieces are your favorites? Let me know in the comments!
Stay Stylish,
