Fashionistas,
I can’t believe New York Fashion Week is currently underway. Every year I make a promise to myself that come hell or high water, I will be sitting amongst the fashion ‘it’ crowd at one of the many runway shows. So far…I’ve broken that promise season after season. While I have yet to make it to New York to witness the glamour firsthand, thanks to a few of my favorite models, brands, makeup artists and designers sharing coveted runway snapshots, I feel like I am practically sitting front row.
Social media, specifically visual platforms like Instagram, has completely changed the way the fashion industry presents its collections and makes us all feel like we are apart of what used to be somewhat of a secretive society. But because our hectic schedules could never allow for us to follow every single fashion insider on Instagram, I’ve included the creme de la creme of who to follow to make sure you don’t miss a thing!
Check below for the rundown:
1. @CFDA
The Council of Fashion Designers of America is the most exclusive club for fashion’s beloved designers, so what better way to get the inside scoop on their latest offerings than by peeking at this brightly curated feed?
2. @PatMcGrathReal
Pat McGrath is to the fashion world what Beyonce is to music. With makeup looks that are bold and edgy yet sultry and feminine, there is no one like her who can capture the tone of each piece so perfectly. I mean, her close-up shots are to-die for! If I could get my face beat just one time, I’d die a happy woman.
3. @EvaChen212
The person who single-handedly coined the phrase #EvaChenPose, the former Editor-in-Chief and current fashion slayer lets her followers in on the behind-the-scenes beauty of fashion week while sharing street style shots that we all adore. I don’t think Fashion Week would be the same if we didn’t get her daily footwear snaps. (And don’t forget the apple!)
4. @ClaireSulmers
The woman behind my daily fashion read, FashionBombDaily, Claire gives an inside look at the world of fashion from her viewpoint, including selfies at lavish fashion events, detailed shots of chic ensembles and all around style inspiration. And because I love supporting black women in fashion doing the dang thing, I also recommend following her handle @FashionBombDaily for even more style goodies.
So there you have it – the five accounts that will get you through the busiest time of the year! Ready, set, follow! May the fashion gods forever be in your favor.
Stay Stylish,
Briea Curington
