8 Met Gala Looks That Made Us Green With Envy

Fashionistas,

Can you hear that? That’s me squealing in excitement. Tonight is one of the most talked about nights in fashion. The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute. On this night, our favorite celebrities, models and designers team up for a good cause in nothing short of head-to-toe glamour. Each year, attendees hope to reflect a particular theme (this year’s is “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology”) and we all watch with baited breath to see who nailed it and who could have used a little extra help.

In an industry where everyone is so afraid of standing out and taking risks, the thing I love about this event is that there are no rules. Anything truly goes. The more you push the envelope to express yourself, the better. The best dressed girls are usually the ones who let their imagination run wild and take the opportunity to really make a statement. I can’t wait!

Check below for the most swoon-worthy looks over the past few years:

Sarah Jessica Parker in Oscar de la Renta

Sarah Jessica Parker nails it year after year. This was such a classic look, from the bouffant hair to the white gloves and the epic train.

Rihanna in Guo Pei

Only Rihanna could pull this look off so perfectly. Everything from this shade of yellowish gold to the headdress and makeup were to die for.

Nicole Richie in Donna Karan

From the velvet and sheer accents of the dress to the purple hair and metallic clutch, this look was #flawless.

Eva Mendes in Prada

Can we just talk about how Eva’s skin is glowing against this shade of orange? I just love the embellishments on the bodice and the peplum detailing.

Karolina Kurkova in Marchesa

Over-the-top and glamorous. This modern day princess moment is everything the Met Gala is all about.

Beyonce in Givenchy

I have to give my girl Queen Bey props. This is a tricky look to pull off because it could have went from couture glam to tacky, but she looked absolutely ravishing.

Cara Delevingne in Stella McCartney

I’m a sucker for a menswear inspired look in a sea of floor-length gowns and big skirts so Cara was easily one of my faves in this cut-out crop top and tailored trousers.

Solange in Giles Deacon

Go bold or go home, right? Solange solidified her fashion status in this abstract look.

Gorgeous! Who are you anxious to see on the red carpet tonight? Any early best-dressed predictions? Let me know in the comments!
